Description
The Jerma Palace Hotel in Marsaskala, Malta is one of the most famous abandoned landmarks on the Maltese islands β a once-luxurious seafront hotel that now stands as a crumbling, derelict relic of the past.
Originally opened in 1982 as a four-star hotel and managed by Corinthia Hotels International, the Jerma Palace was at the time the largest hotel in southern Malta, with hundreds of rooms and extensive facilities. Its presence helped transform Marsaskala from a quiet fishing village into a more popular seaside resort.
However, after closing its doors in March 2007, the hotel was never reopened. Since then, the structure has been left abandoned and stripped of almost everything of value β carpets, floors, doors, tiles and other materials were taken, leaving behind a decaying shell
